A contemporary Maine property

When our clients envisioned a three-home family sanctuary on a peninsula between Long Lake and Sebago Lake, they imagined a place that would defy the traditional Maine vernacular—an intentional design built for future generations. In collaboration with Knickerbocker Group as architect, landscape architect, and builder, and Savoir Faire Home as interior designer, the first phase of that vision came to life: a 6,000-square-foot modern retreat nestled along Brandy Pond.

Form meets function

Accessed by a bridge leading to the second floor, Cove House immediately opens to views of water and sky. A floating staircase draws guests to the main level: cathedral ceilings frame a warm and open layout, with a kitchen, guest suite, and living spaces designed for comfort and connection.

A place to gather, indoors and out

Inside, natural light floods the space through expansive, black-framed windows, softened by nickel-gap paneling and custom woodwork. Outside, thoughtful landscape architecture includes spaces for gathering and play—from the outdoor kitchen and fire pit terrace to a tennis court and blueberry bushes ripe for picking. Whether sipping coffee by the water or enjoying a game on the lawn, Cove House invites family to linger and connect.

Materials with meaning

The interiors, guided by Lisa’s vision, founder at Savoir Faire Home and homeowner of Cove House, blend worldly influences with local roots. Moroccan rugs and African-inspired decor layer with Maine-quarried stone, walnut accents, and board-form concrete—elements that speak to a refined yet grounded sensibility. Each of the four bedrooms carries its own palette and personality, reflecting the family’s global travels and individual styles.

We imagined a place our family could grow into—a sanctuary for grandchildren, family gatherings, and a future lived well.
– Lisa Duffy, homeowner + founder at Savior Faire Home

A future in the making

Cove House is just the beginning. Two additional homes—a 3,500-square-foot Point House and a 2,500-square-foot guesthouse—are underway, completing a family retreat designed to evolve. Built for generations, the property will become a backdrop for weddings, weekends, and a legacy of Maine memories.
